News Nugget-Raising Taxes to Balance State Budget Doesn't work

Here is an interesting News Nugget for today: New Jersey has raised their taxes 115 times in the last 8 years and they still have an 11 Billion budget deficit.

So clearly to raise taxes without massive budget cuts doesn't work. Spending must be drastically cut. But who is it that doesn't want to cut spending? The evil unions. By their size they can wield enormous amounts of power to keep their over-inflated salaries and pensions intact. For example, a garbage collector in a union in Connecticut with a government contract makes $120,000 a year. I don't remember how much more this is than a garbage collector, not in a union, makes. But it is very out of line with what a garbage collector should make.

Who is in league with unions? Obama and the Progressive (Liberal) Party. Unions destroyed Greece's economy and they are doing the same in America. It is unrealistic to retire at the age of 50 and expect to be paid a pension for the next 30 to 40 years funded by tax-payer dollars but that's what the unions have succeeded in getting over there. Greece has fallen over the precipice and Spain, Ireland, and Britain are teetering on the edge for the same reason, among others.
